Olivia goes to school!

Trevor and I are so very blessed. Our work, LifeChurch.tv, offers a daycare for staff kids in the same building we work in. In fact, Olivia's room is in the next hallway from our office.
The first couple months of school for Olivia have been interesting. I, of course, cried the first day after dropping her off. It's still so hard to take her every day but we know that God has called me to my job right now and she is being taken good care of.
After only being there for a couple days, the sweet girl got a terrible stomach bug and spent the next 5 days throwing up with diarrhea. FUN TIMES! Anyway, her immune system is getting stronger by the day. She is also a bit high maintenance and has her own little quirks just like mom and dad so being in a room where she is not the center of attention has been an adjustment as well. She is finally doing so much better as her reflux calms down, she learns to play more, and gets more and more comfortable with her sweet teachers.
Below are some pics of her on her first day. She was so tiny, and still is the smallest but not youngest one in her class.

Sorry it had been so long!

Well unfortunately I let life get in the way of updated this blog and then the thought of having to catch up from November was a tad overwhelming. So here we go! I will post a few updates from the last couple months and get you all up to date!

Liv's Buddy Miles

Oh sweet little Miles! Miles was born on the same day as Olivia, and is the son of a long time friend of the Davis family. Deborah and Liz Shumate lived in the same neighborhood as Trevor's family growing up and they have all remained very close.

Miles's mom, Deborah, delivered Miles at another hospital just a few hours after Olivia was here. Olivia and Miles have met a couple times since then, although I'm pretty sure neither of them have any idea they've met! A couple weeks ago, at the Davis Family Shower, we put the two of them in the pack n' play together and took pictures. It was quite possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen!

Enjoy these pics!

A visit from Papa and Mama B!

Two weeks ago my parents came in town for a visit all the way from Minnesota. It was so nice to spend time with them and to see them interact with Olivia. The visit of course seemed too short, but we tried to soak up as much quality time as we could. The next time we'll see them will be Christmas and we can't wait! Olivia will be so big by then!

Here are a few pictures from our trip to POPS. If you aren't familiar with POPS, it's a restaurant, gas station and convenience store on Route 66. They have over 400 different sodas to choose from! It was fun experience!

Tired . . .

Although our nighttime feedings are getting much better . . . interrupted sleep still leaves parents tired. I just had to share these pictures from a few nights ago . . .

Trevor had just finished feeding Olivia and his long day was catching up with him as you can see in his sweet face . . .

Olivia was pleasantly full and beginning to feel the effects of a nice food coma . . .

I was messing around on the computer and Trevor said he was going to go lay the baby down and would be back. I wasn't really paying attention to time until I realized he hadn't returned and I hadn't heard a peep from either of them for about 30 minutes. . .

I went in our bed room to check on them and found this . . .

I grabbed the camera, snapped a few shots, then woke Trev up and put the baby in bed. Needless to say . . . some catch up sleep is needed. :)

Trip to the Farm!

Trevor's parents live in Crescent and have beautiful land all around them. We try to go out and visit as much as we can and it's always fun when we do! The last time we went, the whole family was there and Miss Olivia received a bunch of deserved attention!

Grammy Davis has an old scale hanging in the corner for decoration . . . and we've been dying to know how much Olivia weighs, so you guessed it! We took it down, wiped it out and laid our chunky monkey in the scale! It said she was between 7.5 and 8 lbs!

Uncle TJ also held her for the first time. It was so cute! I think he's ready for her to be able to play and run around, and of course he'll be taking her fishing as soon as she can walk!

We also went down early so we could spend more time with Grandma and Grandpa Davis. Grandma Davis is so sweet and gentle with Olivia. It's awesome to see them together.
Olivia is so blessed to be surrounded by family that adores her so much!

Lovin' Her Daddy!

For the last week or so, Olivia has been having a hard time in the evenings. After lots of sleepless hours, crying and projectile vomit we talked with doctor and discovered that we think she has a case of reflux. It's basically caused by immaturity in her esophagus causing her to be pretty uncomfortable.

Trevor and I are definitely learning a few lessons in patience. Trevor has been so sweet with her, trying all sorts of things to make her feel better.

Last night, at LifeGroup, while Olivia was having a hard time settling down, Trev took her in and played the piano for her. She was out like a light! It was so sweet to walk in and see her asleep in his arms as he played BEAUTIFUL music.
